Lifting Flipping Reactor

Introduction for Lifting Flipping Reactor ( LFR )

The Lifting Flipping Reactors refer to laboratory reactors using Lift and Flip Devices (LFD).
The Lifting Flipping Reactor is a comprehensive reaction vessel.
Its structure consists of a reactor and a LFD.
The reason why list them separately is that they have a rising trend of demand from customers.

I, Purpose:

The application of LFR is to save labor consumption during the discharging and cleaning process after the reaction is finished. During the experiments by using batch lab reactors, the operators have to remove the kettle lid from the kettle body and bend down to do the discharging and cleaning of the kettle body after every experiment. The operator's labor intensity would be very large when the vessel's volume is over 10 liters. So, there comes the Lifting and Flipping Device (FLD), which can turn over the kettle body, which is convenient for unloading and cleaning, so it eliminates a lot of physical labor for the operator.

II, LFD Structure:

LFD structure

The LFD is made of three major parts: a base, a vertical pole, and a sliding block.
Configurations:
ᆞ The height of the FLD pole is around 1.5 meters, and it has a Sliding Block in the middle of the pole.
ᆞ The Sliding Block can be moved up and down and it is driven by a manual wheel or motor.
ᆞ The Upper Crossbeam welded on the reactor kettle's lid is blotted with the crossbeam on the top of the FLD pole. The kettle's lid and the crossbeams can not be moved after they are bolted.
ᆞ The Lower Crossbeam welded on the reactor kettle's body is blotted with the Raotaion block, which is connected with an axis inside the Sliding Block.  The kettle body could be moved up and down because it is actually fixed with the Sliding Block.

III, Operation Instruction:

1,

Twist off the nuts from the bolts on the flange.

2,

Roll down the Sliding Block by wheeling the manual wheel or motor. So the whole kettle body gets down too.

3,

Flip over the kettle body and pour the medium out.
The Ration Block enables the kettle body to flip over manually. The body can turn more than 120 degrees, which is convenient for cleaning the residue medium inside the kettle.

4,

Clean the kettle body, then flip it right up.

5,

Roll up the Sliding Block, and fix the flange with bolts and nuts. Then prepare for the next
experiment.

IV, Optional Structures:

4.1 Quick-open Collar

The kettle body and the lid can also adopt a Quick-open Collar on the lid for the fast opening purpose. Photo of Quick-open collar
The Quick-open Collar is the replacement of the flange. So, only fixing or unfixing two bolts would separate the reaction kettle's lid and body. It will further improve the pace between the two experiments, saving a lot of time wasted on the bolts.

4.2 PID controller

The PID controller can monitor and control the parameters of the reaction. And by connecting with the automotive valves, it could  pre-set reaction steps.
The pre-set reaction steps can be completed with a high degree of automation from the initial feed, reaction, and discharge.  Then the critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, mechanical control (stirring, blasting, etc.), and reactants (products ) concentration are firmly controlled during the reaction process.

4.3 Other types of LFD are optional:

The optional types are shown in the below picture.
In general, there are four types of LFD categorized by lifting methods:
ᆞManual lifting for the kettle body ( It has been explained in Part II).
ᆞManual lifting for kettle lid.
ᆞMotorized lifting for kettle lid.
ᆞMotorized lifting for kettle body.
