Title of product Features
Reaction Vessel: 
  • Thickness:
The thickness of the vessel wall is designed to withstand the pressure of 1.1Mpa, while the work pressure is only 0.9 Mpa. So, the 0.2 Mpa difference between design pressure and work pressure can make the vessel run safely. 
  • Cladding plate:
The material of the vessel contacting medium is SS 31603, which with a high corrosion resistance. The material of the external wall of the vessel is carbon steel, which offers good rigidity. So, the material of the vessel is SS31603+ Carbon steel cladding plate. 
In practice, we would suggest customers use SS 31603 only because the area of the cladding plate used in this case is very little not help cost saving too much. However, since the rigidity of carbon steel is necessarily required, the cladding plate is used here.
Open type
The vessel is using open type to help with the maintenance and cleaning of the vessel. 
Medium transportation parts:
  • They consist of nozzles, flanges, valves, and gauges in this application. And there are pumps which belong to the medium transportation system at the customer's site.
  • The material of them are stainless steel 31603 too. Support The lugs of the rector and rack make up the support.
  • Lugs are made from carbon steel with proper thickness to hold the reactor. 
  • The rack is made from carbon steel too. They are painted for corrosion resistance.
Agitator:
It is roughly made from 4 components: An explosion-proof variable frequency motor, reducer, magnetic shaft, and paddles.
  • Motor:
Explosion-proof variable frequency motor enables the stirring speed adjustment between 0 to 600 rpm of the stirrer. 
So, it helps the researcher to test the mixing conditions at various speeds. The explosion-proof feature of this motor ensures the safety of operation and prevents it from explosion.
  • Reducer:
The reducer helps the speed adjustment smooth enough.
  • Magnetic shaft
The application of this shaft gives the reactor's vessel the highest level of sealing. Thanks to the uncontact driving principle supported by the magnetic force, the reactor lid could be closed without the penetration of the shaft. So, there is no change of leakage happening because of the shaft turning.
  • Blades:
There are two layers of blades for this reactor
Propeller and inclined blade paddle.
The propeller at the top side will push the fluid downward, while the inclined blade paddle at the downside will push the fluid upward.
So, there will be a good effort of fluid mixing caused by them which helps the inlet gas mix evenly with the fluid.
Temperature control components: 
It consists of cooling components (the coil and cooling water inlet pipe), heating components (Electric heating bar, jacket, bath oil inlet & outlet ports, and pipes), and an insulation layer.
  • In this product, the coil needs to withstand 200 ℃ and corrosion, so we apply the stainless steel 31603 as its material.  The thickness of the coil is made to bear 0.5 Mpa pressure because the work pressure of the coil is only required to be 0.4 Mpa. 
  • The jacket used in this product is to contain bath oil.  Because the pressure can be atmospheric, we applied an expander to make sure the pressure inside the jacket wouldn't be increased to superior atmospheric caused by the heat expanding of the oil.
  • Intelligent controller:
We are using a PID controller for this case required by the customer. 
The PID controller not only monitors the temperature but also the stirring speed, the pressure inside the vessel, and the current inside the motor.   
When maintenance is needed, the lifting rack will hang the reactor lid up, till the paddles of the agitator are totally out of the vessel's cylinder. Then the maintenance will be done. After the maintenance is finished, the reactor lid will be put back in position and fixed with bolts.
To ensure the sealing effort, the reactor uses using flange fixture, graphite gasket, and gaskets for other nozzle ports. We have also prepared several pcs of them as spare parts for future consumption.
  • roughness:
The internal surface of the vessel is Ra<0.8μm, which is mirror polished and easy to clean after using.

 1.1 Brief description of the structure of the Pilot Reaction and Distillation System.

 This reaction and distillation reactor is an essential part of the pilot experiment system being used by our pharmaceutical client.
 To the left side of the reactor is the lifting rack, which is driven by an electric motor to pull the lifting rope to open the lid of the reactor.
 To the right side of the reactor is the end product condenser and collecting system (not shown in this picture), which is installed and under service at the client's site.
  All of the above three parts make up the pilot reaction and distillation system.
