Why there are so many stainless steel reactor in chemical industry?

Advantages of stainless steel reactor:

The reason why stainless steel reaction kettles have a wide range of applications is because of their advantages.

1, Excellent mechanical properties. 

The material is made of stainless steel can withstand high working pressure and deformation. Can withstand the impact of large solid materials feeding. In many industries, they can withstand the impact of some objects.
In a variety of chemical reactions, many reactants or products are corrosive. Therefore, the materials that come into contact with these media in the reactor require a certain level of corrosion resistance.

2, Good heat resistance with wide working temperature range.

(1) Stainless steel reactors have both high temperature resistance and low temperature resistance. They can withstand -196 ℃ to 380 ℃. The material will not undergo oxidation and other chemical reactions at higher temperatures.
(2) Stainless steel reactors have an obvious advantage of rapid warming and cooling speed. And they can withstand sharp changes in temperature, to adapt to the different needs of the environment. WHGCM generally design heating, cooling, and temperature control system, such as jacket, cooling tube, insulation, and external circulation high and low temperature machine for stainless steel reactors, to enable this advantage.

3, High corrosion resistance. 

Stainless steels have good characteristics in corrosion resistance, and weathering resistance, which is retained after they're made into reactors.
Stainless steel can be considered an inactive metal. This is because the surface of stainless steel can form an anti-corrosive oxide layer that prevents further oxidation and corrosion of the metal inside.

Acid resistance alkali resistance
Hydrochloric acid, all types of stainless steel can not withstand the corrosion of hydrochloric acid.
Dilute sulfuric acid, 316L can withstand, but 304 certainly not.
Concentrated sulphuric acid, basically all stainless steel have no problem.
Nitric acid, basically all stainless steel have no problem.
Stainless steel can withstand strong alkali corrosion. 

4, Fast reaction speed. 

Stainless steel reaction kettle has a good stirring effect and heat transfer efficiency, can be uniformly mixed reactants, and improve reaction speed and efficiency, so as to achieve a rapid reaction.

5, Good machining property.

It has good ductility and can be made into various shapes of reaction vessels according to custom requirements, and its low requirements for welding processing make it easy to achieve batch manufacturing in industrial engineering.
(1) One of the obvious features of stainless steel is its good machinability. The shapes and structures of the reactor can be fabricated as per the reaction processes' requirements.
(2) The kettle body can be sanded and polished, not easy to hang material, easy to clean.
(3) The stainless steel reactor itself has good equipment extension performance. If your reactor needs to add some parts in the process of use, then just add a few more parts through the ports valve and tubes, then it is ok.

6, Easy to operate. 

Stainless steel reactor is simple and convenient to operate, easy to control the reaction conditions and processes, to meet the requirements of different reactions.

7, Easy to maintain. 

Stainless steel reaction vessel has good anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation properties, that make equipment maintenance and cleaning easy.
