This is pilot reactor for polycondensation. Reaction kettle: Profile: Open style, conical bottom. The coincal bottom could help the discharging with high viscosity. Material: stainless steel S304. Cylinder size: ᆞDia. 500mm * H550mm. ᆞThickness 6mm. This size lets a 150 liters full volume of the kettle, and allows a 100 liters work volume for the reaction. ᆞMain flange: Material is S304 surfacing welded carbon steel 16Mn. Its size is designed as per the pressure and temperature. The main flange is usually applied for the reactor with open style. The reactor would be opened when the reaction is finished, or for maintaining. |

Agitator: Motor: ᆞExproof. The monomer of the reaction is flammable. Besides the motor , the other parts such as electric heaters, motor for lifting, also need Exproof feature. ᆞPower: 4KW. It offers enough stirring torque for the large blade. Reducer: It ensure the stirring speed to be 200RPM max. Magnetic shaft sleeve coupler: ᆞIt is long enough for containing the magnetic rings inside the sleeve for big torque. ᆞIt is using ciculating water for the magnetic rings cooling. Shaft coupler ᆞBecause the large torque caused to the shaft by the polycondensation product, this part is also needed. Two layers mixer with paddle and Anchor frame blades: This kind of design could ensure uniform mixing of the monomer and polycondensation product mixture. The bottom shape of the anchor frame is simliar with the conical bottom of kettle, so the polycondensation product could be fully stirred by it. Material: Stainless steel S304. The medium has slightly corrosion, so all the material of the agitator parts that contact the medium are S304. |
Jacket: Temperature adjusting jacket This jacket is attached outside of the kettle wall. It works together two parts to adjust the temperature of thermal oil inside it. One is the electric heaters injected from its bottom, the other is the cooling coils with the inlet/outlet ports opened on its bottom too. ᆞThe heater is used to start the condensation reaction after the medium charged into the kettle. ᆞAnd the cooling coils is to cool the temperature at certain temperature, to prevent the reaction temperature become too high to control. As the condensation reaction is exothermic reaction that it is easy to runaway. Insulation Jacket This jacket is assembled outside of the temperature adjusting jacket. It is used to prevent the heat escaping. |

Condensers: There are three condensers in this set of contraption. Vertical condenser: It is used to expel the unnecessary gas phase by-product of the consensation reaction. The length of heat exchange tube is 800mm, which ensure the medium needed by the consensation could be cooled down and reflux in liquid phase. Horizontal condensers: These two condensers are design to recover the by-products after the condensation. The by-products will be collected by the receiving tanks. |
